Holy Week

The Story of How Much God Loves Us All

Holy Week at Los Angeles FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCh: March 25-April 1

Holy Week is the time just before Easter. This is the time the church tells the story of Jesus's celebration in Jerusalem, betrayal by his Disciples, arrest, trial, crucifixion, death, and resurrection.

We tell this story each year because it reminds us of how much God loves us.

We don't believe that this is a story of divine child abuse.

Rather, it's a story about God's willingness to enter into the world in human form, endure the suffering of injustice and oppression, and rise again with death and oppression defeated on our behalf.

Join us as we remember the reality of suffering and God's love, so deep for us, that God would be willing to suffer alongside us.

Join us as we celebrate the promise that God is with us, God is for us, and God refuses to be God without us.
